Holger, I share your doubt's when I'm thinking about "classic"
conferences. But we actually had very well attended and highly regarded
last minute stuff which enriched past DebConfs. While not every last
minute stuff was really great DebConf would be poorer if we would not
give the chance for spontaneous events (while admitting that it should
be spontaneous in the measure of "registering at least one day = 24 hours
before).
