As I understand it, the original reason for not having the sponsor
pack publicly linked was different: it was thought useful to be able
to know who had requested copies, and therefore who to keep in contact
with about sponsorship.
Of course, on this count too there's a trade-off, as it's possible
that this benefit would be outweighed by having the sponsor pack more
immediately accessible.
