[Debconf-team] non sponsored accom - thoughts

Morning all,

As those of you who are on the wrong end of accom@debconf.org know, BB
and cowgate, our two hostels, say they don't have much more space
during the debconf time. We also have about 50 folk who want non
sponsored accom. The orginal plan was to ask these guys to book it
themselves. 

Instead, I'm now thinking about this:

1) mailing the folk, and offering one of three options
1.1) asking BB or cowgate now, via the interweb magic
1.2) saying they should stay elsewhere, and offering a suggestion. 
1.3) saying if they hold on, we have a good chance of space for them
in BB or cowgate. 

2) asking the money people really nicely if they mind having to
collect money from folk. 

Thoughts?
