[Debconf-team] "Global" favourite

Hi

After the two reports i just sent I thought it could be good to sum up
what I think about both locations together, ie who is my favourite and a
bit of the "Why?" behind it. So lets go:

The top rank for me is the Hotel Terme in Sarajevo at the moment. I
think it will host the most complete DebConf of all the venues, as you
have everything together in one place, just leave your room and
basically you are already at the talk rooms/restaurant. It is also used
to conferences, so the reception can take a lot of work from us (way
more than those in Mexico created), and its also full accessible for
disabled persons. Sarajevo City Center is also not that far away, the
tram station is a 5 minutes walk away, then add around 20 minutes for
the tram.

On the second place I rank the Art College in Edinburgh. It is not far
behind the Hotel, it basically lost because the sleeping places are a
bit away and splitted (we would have 2 hostels), and at the moment it is
not fully clear if we can have it 24hours. I guess so, but still, I need
some kind of ranking.

Following that I can list the Teviot, as the alternative for Edinburgh,
but only if they accept to have better opening times than what we heard
during our visit there. Sleeping places would be the same / similar as
with the Art College.

Equally on the last place, and no choice for me, are the Student
dormitory in Sarajevo and the "Royal College of Physicians" in
Edinburgh. Both I do not consider good/best options for a nice DebConf.

Now, for the countries:

Bosnia and Herzegovina:
You can still see what the war did to the country (but then you can
still see war-damaged buildings in Berlin), having bulletholes in
buildings. The local team made a strong and committed impression and
From what I heard I guess we have the right connections to get things
DebConf needs. The only problem against the location here could be
increased travel-costs, as there is no real budget airline going to
Sarajevo. That may change until DebConf7, and you can get low prices if
you book well in advance, but its still a bit more expensive. But I saw
a discussion on IRC that it may be a good option if people decide to go
on the same day to just charter an airplane, as that will get way
cheaper then. Those options have to be looked at if we chose Sarajevo.

Scotland:
Well, its the UK, so they use the wrong side of the street to drive
at. It looks scary and one needs to get used to it. Aside from that
Edinburgh is a pretty old City having its own character and we would
have the venues in / very near to the center, which would be nice, after
having Helsinki and Mexico both a bit outside. Local team is also strong
here, including some DDs. A big plus for this location is the good
connection it has, so people can get very low travel prices here.

All that together means that its hard to chose between both locations,
as every side has its pro and contras and both teams invested a lot of
work.
