Re: on being covid positive and still being inside the venue and in talk rooms

Hi James,

Do you know (or can you suggest who might know) whether the event has
sufficient food to provide all three daily meals to anyone who chooses
to self-isolate due to COVID?

If so, that would imply 12 or more food hero volunteer shifts per day,
under current conditions, to cater to those individuals.

There is definitely sufficient food, but it's also true that the lunch hero mission is becoming challenging as some dorm rooms are quite far away from the venue. More volunteers would be welcome I think, today and tomorrow nobody applied for this job so it fell back on orga team members that are already quite busy.

My travel home is alone so I have some anxiety about becoming ill
during the event -- but even so I would like to learn more about the
food hero roles and how the delivery process works (including, for
example, how to combine doing a mealtime delivery shift with obtaining
a meal yourself).

I'm not sure I understand your question here? How it worked for me so far is that the volunteer picks up what is (still) available, based on what they know of your food preferences (so if it's anything else than "everything goes" I would recommend contacting Front Desk to remind them of your preferences).

Cheers,
