Hi all, This morning we had a lovely meeting with both experienced and new Debian enthusiasts. The goal was mostly to get to know each other and find out about newcomers' interests and difficulties when they first come into contact with the project. This was the first of this 3-day sprint and we feel it was truly successful. We'll keep covering some topics that can be a bit overwhelming for new contributors. They're listed at https://debconf25.debconf.org/schedule/new-contributors-onboarding-sprint/ Tomorrow we'll meet again in the noisy hacklab at 10am to continue with the discussions and go deeper on two particular topics: managing bugs in Debian (BTS), and an introduction to Debian packaging. It doesn't matter how you identify yourself, whether you're a complete novice or that old fellow just interested in sharing what you have learned over the last years (decades?), please join us! We now have an IRC channel for this sprint: #dc25-onboarding at OFTC You can reach tassia or myself in private if you have any questions, or if you feel you need some guidance before joining tomorrow's session. Also, we want to encourage family members to join as well, believing that they can have a more enjoyable DebConf experience, with the hope that they will be around in the future :-) Thanks everyone who joined today. Hope to see you again tomorrow along with new faces. Bests, -- Tiago Bortoletto Vaz
