Now, I was thinking maybe Debconf would be a good opportunity to have Debian contributors (e.g. those maintaining the installer but not only them) help newcomers install Debian on their machines. Has anyone thought in this direction already?
Yes, see e.g. the mailing list debian-boot [1]. I'm currently preparing some automated tests that will perform an installation of Debian next to a Window system.
My idea is that openQA [2] would set up a default Windows (10/11/XX?) system and then perform an installation to make a dual boot system.
While I'd be willing to help in such an event, I don't want to be in the lead for the simple reason that I don't speak French.
But please don't hesitate to register such a session. I think that several French speaking persons will show up willing to help, and I guess many other languages will be spoken as well :-)
