I don't remember that this was ever suggested. Do you have any
references? 

IMO it's not well spent volunteer time to do regular taxi
services for attendees. Of course we will do that for urgent needs
(medical reasons, important stuff to buy, ...).

I think it's much more reasonable to do self-organized car shareing
among participants who want to stay outside of Le Camp. I added an
(empty) page to the wiki[1] for people to coordinate this if interested.
