Yes. And you do that, when making the image, in the ./configure step before doing "make world". So the images from OpenWRT are "useless" for us, we want more customized images: with the right packages, the right default configuration (think DNS servers and ESSIDs and such), so that all we have to configure per device is the IP address (unless we use dhcp, obviously) and the wlan channel.
