After talking to several people during this week it seems useful to get together to discuss some current and future kernel related subjects. It will be an informal brainstorm session that should be followed up with summaries and further discussion on the relevant mailing lists. There are no nice slots for BoFs available any more, so we'll meet on the veranda of Hacklab 2 and find a place to talk from there. Time: Friday 21:30-22:30 The following subjects could be on the agenda: - divergence between official kernel packaging and kernel-package (k-p) - kernel udeb creation process (possibly using k-p?) - which kernel to release with Etch (2.6.16 from AB or "current" upstream) - kernel updates during Etch lifetime - based on updated 2.6.16 from AB - using new upstream (2.6.xx); see [1] The following people are very much invited to attend: - members of the kernel team (including Manoj as k-p maintainer) - members of the d-i team - members of security team - release managers - porters Of course other interested people are welcome too. Please spread the word. Cheers, FJP [1] http://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2006/05/msg00122.html
