CAcert assurance information

Hi all,

If you are interested in getting CAcert[3] assurance points here at debconf,
or would like to know what this is about, then read on for how we will do
this.

The short summary is as follows:

1. CAcert assurance will happen during the keysigning
2. You *must* have a CAcert login before the keysigning[1]
3. Bring 5 printouts of the WoT form[2] to the keysigning
4. Listen to the instructions at the beginning of the keysigning for how it
works

If you want to get CAcert assurance points here at Debconf, then please
create a CAcert login[1] *before* the keysigning party, and bring 5 copies
of the WoT form[2] with your CAcert information filled out on it.

The idea is during the keysigning the CAcert assurers will have an indicator
on their shirts saying "CAcert". When you reach one of these people during
the process of keysigning, you will give this person one of your WoT forms.
They look at your ID, as they already will be doing for the keysigning, and
you continue on, that is all that is necessary. There are approximately 9
assurers, each assurer can only give you 35 points, and you can only get a
maximum of 150 points, so at some point you will run out of forms, which is
fine. The only thing that is required is that you have a CAcert login, and
you have the forms, and the forms are given to assurers.

2. first login to the CAcert webpage: https://www.cacert.org/index.php?id=4,
then click on "CAcert Web of Trust" and then the WoT form
3. CAcert is building a Certificate Authority (CA) based on the Web of
Trust principle and tries to get their Root Cert in commonly used
browsers. CAcert is a Non-Profit Certificate Authority; an alternative
to the commercial CAs where you can obtain free digital X.509
certificates for client (e-mail) and server (ssl, https) applications.
