DebConf 25 Daily announcements - 2025.07.15 - Daytrip information && DebConf Day 2

Hello Debianites!

Here is the daily announcements for the 2nd day of DebConf.

=== Volunteers needed! ===

As we say every day, we really need volunteers for the conference to function.
Please volunteer for some shifts every day!

We particularly need everyone to pay attention to, and help with, the
cleanliness of the Centre-Vie, which does double duty as a hacklab and as an
eating space. Cleaning supplies are easily accessible for this purpose. Local
team has had to handle cleanup twice in a row and is considering to stop serving
meals until this is resolved.

=== COVID-19 policy ===

We would like to remind attendees of our COVID-19 policy[1], as well as our
conference code of conduct[2].

We recommend that people who have tested positive self-isolate while they
exhibit symptoms, and to let themselves be known to the registration team so we
can arrange for food to be brought to them. We recommend that everyone use masks
in crowded areas. Surgical masks are available at Front Desk and Badge Station.

A limited number of self-tests are available at Front Desk for people displaying
symptoms (please delegate someone to pick it up); We are trying to procure more,
and would welcome donations of further in-date tests for extra testing capacity.

We will attempt to set up a dedicated outdoor space for those who have tested
positive to be able to hack and/or socialize a bit. This will be explicitly
signposted.

=== Content note for Enrico's talk tonight ===

Enrico's semi-serious stand-up comedy[1] will happen today, Tuesday, at 18:30 in
Méridienne. We are advising our attendees that the content of this talk will not
be suitable for people under 18 years of age.

=== C&W and food ===

In addition to the Cheese and Wine offerings, finger food provided by our
caterers will be available at Fort du Dellec tonight. Vegan food will be
supplied, please give priority for those items to the registered vegan
attendees.

=== Super magic buses for C&W and conference dinner ===

Today and Thursday, magic buses will become super magic buses. They will leave
from Fort du Dellec at 23h15 and 00h30, stop at the IMT Atlantique entrance,
stop at Camping du Goulet and then will go all the way to Brest Liberté for our
off-site attendees.

=== Lunch for tomorrow (Wednesday 16th) ===

Every attendee with a lunch voucher needs to COLLECT their food from RAK between
7h30 and 9h00. This applies to people going on DayTrips, but also to everyone
else!

=== Daytrip departure times (options C and D) ===

Daytrip C (Océanopolis & Musée 70.8): The buses will leave from IMT at 8h30.
They will collect people from Camping du Goulet at 8h45. We will bring along the
packed lunches for those staying at Campsite. Everyone else going on that trip,
please collect your lunch at RAK between 7h30 and the bus departure. We remind
you that knives are *STRICTLY* forbidden at Océanopolis (including multi-tools
and swiss army knives). Bags will be checked by security before entering the
aquarium; entry will be denied.

Daytrip D (Ushant Island): The bus will leave from Camping du Goulet at 8h10.
They will wait at RAK for people to fetch their lunch and leave at 8h30 *SHARP*
to reach the ferry port in time to board. The bus *WILL NOT* wait for
stragglers.

=== Playing Cards ===

You may have witnessed some late night games involving decks of cards featuring
the headshots of (younger, for some reason?) Debian people. Andy Simpkins and
Aigars Mahinovs have coordinated to take photos to have new sets of playing
cards produced using photos taken during the conference. More details, and
signup, are available on a wiki page[2].
