Hello fellow DebConfers! We (the DebConf Content Team) are working hard to review all of the submitted talks. As it always happens with DebConf organization... Things are hard. We are now starting to consider the real-life constraints: Out of the (surely excellent!) 208 proposed talks (and similar scheduled events), we have to consider how many we can squeeze into the conference days, forming a coherent schedule that is not too demanding and ends up being interesting and inspiring for attendees (and not mind-numbing due to starting too early, finishing too late, or having too little or few breaks)... Well, most of you know the drill, as we have a very high attendee retention rate. We did announce in our Call for Papers¹ that we would send out talks acceptance notification _yesterday_, 2025.06.02. But... We have too many variables to balance out to come up with the set of talks, not to mention the sheer volume of talks we are rating! ¹ https://debconf25.debconf.org/cfp/ We need more time to reach a set of talks we can announce. We are working hard to do a great job with this... Please hold on to next week — we _will_ send out the acceptance notifications on 2025.06.11 (a week from today). As you might be aware, this year we have the new Academic Track², that has a different workflow. We _do_ expect to be able to send the abstract acceptance notifications tomorrow; if you are participating in this track, please remember that's just the cue for you to hurry up writing and finishing your paper, as the full paper submission deadline is on June 19. We will contact you with further details on how to proceed for this! ² https://www.diverse-team.fr/debconf25-academictrack/s/callforpaper/ So... Please be assured we are working to make DebConf25, as always, the best DebConf ever so far! For the Content Team, – Gunnar.
