[Debconf-announce] DebConf Announcements for 2016-07-02 (Day 0)

DebConf Announcements for Saturday, 2016-07-02

== Ad-Hoc Sessions ==

There is space in the schedule for ad-hoc sessions from Monday onwards.
In order to schedule an ad-hoc session, please:

1. Register your session in the conference system at
https://debconf16.debconf.org/talks/new/ - use "BoF" as talk type.

2. Check the schedule (https://debconf16.debconf.org/schedule/) for your
preferred time-slot and mention it in the "Private Notes" section.

3. Write a quick email to content@debconf.org, and we will then schedule
your BoF and notify you about it via email.

4. If everything is fine, announce your BoF on debconf-discuss and any
other lists you consider appropriate.

Please note that ad-hoc sessions are scheduled on a best-effort basis!

== Notification of Streams and Mics ==

All talks rooms are videoed and mics and streams can be running at all
times. We try to mute mics when there are no sessions going on, but If
you want to have a private conversation, these rooms might not be the
best place.

Pollito says: Pollito listen to all streams all time and hear funny stuff!

== Heating ==

The UCT accomodation building is old and it's electric system seems
somewhat frail. It can't handle much current, so please don't plug in
more than 2 heaters in one room, when the trip breaker activates,
reception has to call in external maintenance to reset it, which is just
inconvenient for everyone.

Cow says: What do you call a wrapper that runs software in a wasteful
way to generate more heat? A: libheatmydata ^_^

== Keysigning Party (reminder) ==

As usual, we have a rolling keysigning party during DebConf. More
information can be found on:

 * https://people.debian.org/~anibal/ksp-dc16/ksp-dc16.html

Handy handouts, with the ksp-dc16.txt hash and list of participants,
will be available in the “nervous room” and at front desk, and the PDF
is in the wiki:

Pollito says: Pollito have no web of trust. Pollito trust no-one.
