That's an unusual question. This list is named "cdwrite". But since i
subscribed more than a decade ago, it was always about younger programs
cdrecord, growisofs, cdrskin, xorriso.

Not what you probably look for:
  https://www.slackbuilds.org/repository/14.1/system/cdwrite/
(Scripts from this century, using other backend programs.)

This here looks sufficiently antique:
  https://www.kokkonen.net/tjko/src/cdwrite/
The complete prescription would then be
  wget https://www.kokkonen.net/tjko/src/cdwrite/cdwrite-2.0.tar.gz
  tar xf cdwrite-2.0.tar.gz
  cd cdwrite-2.0
... apply patches for SGI IRIX and a Teac burner ...
  make

The text refers to cdrecord as successor and mentions that the cdwrite
program is not yet suitable for Linux.
I would not try to use the programs from that tarball.

My advise is to decide for one of the above younger backends,
which are all 10 years old at least.
Ask here if you have trouble with building or using.

Have a nice day :)

Thomas
