Hi,

it just comes to me that -dvd-compat is deprecated with
DVD+R and actually should be ignored in growisofs-7.0.
(See growisofs.c : search for "never finalize disc at")

Your dvd+rw-mediainfo, nevertheless,  indicates that the
media is closed.

> READ DISC INFORMATION:
>  Disc status:           complete
>  Number of Sessions:    1
>  State of Last Session: complete
>  Number of Tracks:      1

An appendable DVD+RW would look like this:
  READ DISC INFORMATION:
   Disc status:           appendable
   Number of Sessions:    2
   State of Last Session: empty
   "Next" Track:          2
   Number of Tracks:      2

So what version of growisofs are you using ?
