Hmm, so it turns out the problem is actually deeper than I thought.
I cannot mount any of my burned DVDs anymore, including some that I
know for sure were working before. I can however mount video DVDs (not
burned). I also have some DVDs here that were not burned on this
system. Some work, some don't. Meanwhile i can burn/read CDs just
fine.
