Video DVD mastering problem with menues

Seems like I just fell over an old problem again:

mkisofs: Implementation botch. Video pad for file VTS_01_0.IFO is -6
mkisofs: Either the *.IFO file is bad or you found a mkisofs bug.

Discussed in 2002:
http://www.mail-archive.com/cdwrite%40other.debian.org/msg03782.html

DVD layout created with some M$ tool (I can find out which if needed).
DVD plays fine elsewhere. I want to remaster it and copied files to hard
disk; unless there was an error copying the files (very unlikely) the
files on DVD would have to be correct + functional. All files:

         96 2006-06-27 00:35:30 .
         48 2006-05-30 08:23:58 AUDIO_TS

61aaeffe77d0db10f22cd75ad26b35a7 VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_0.IFO

mkisofs 2.01 (x86_64-suse-linux)

SUSE 10.1.

I have 4 other DVDs all showing the same problem with mkisofs (only the
negative number in the error is different).

Has there ever been a solution to this, or is this something new? The
thread from 2002 suggests a fix for mkisofs 2.0.

Thanks,

Volker
