Title: Ideas - :-[ STOP DE-ICING failed with sk=5h/ASC=30h/ACQ=05h]: Input/output error?

I sent this to Andy earlier, but see now that I should have sent it here...Sorry Andy, if you are reading.

Has anyone seen this before?

First the format:
[vobadm2@awars33 awarsBackups]$ /awars2a/Applications/cdrDVDtools/dvd+rw-tools-6.1/dvd+rw-format /dev/scd0
* DVD±RW/-RAM format utility by <appro@fy.chalmers.se>, version 6.1.
* 4.7GB DVD+RW media detected.
* formatting 64.0|:-[ STOP DE-ICING failed with sk=5h/ASC=30h/ACQ=05h]: Input/output error

Then the backup:
[vobadm2@awars33 awarsBackups]$ /awars2a/Applications/cdrDVDtools/dvd+rw-tools-6.1/growisofs -use-the-force-luke -Z /dev/scd0 -r -J AWARSCompleteBackup1-2006-Mar-06.tar

Executing 'mkisofs -r -J AWARSCompleteBackup1-2006-Mar-06.tar | builtin_dd of=/dev/scd0 obs=32k seek=0'
INFO:   UTF-8 character encoding detected by locale settings.

I have been using growisofs for quite some time now and have been very happy with it.  I've been using a Dell Precision 360 with RedHat Linux Enterprise WS 3.0 Update 3.  I'm now trying to get my backups to work on a Dell Precision 380 with RedHat Linux Enterprise WS 3.0 Update 5.  Everything worked perfectly on the other machine.

I have tried new media...no luck.  I have tried using the DVD-RW drive from the old machine in the new machine...no luck.  I've tried setting the speed to 1...no luck.  I was using cdrDVDtools version 5.19 on the old machine and when that didn't work on the new machine I upgraded to 6.1...no luck.  I'm lost as to why it no longer works.

Thank you for any assistance
Steve
