Sorry for you! I think it is also important to upgrade to 2.6 ! I have tested memorex mediums and i can NOT burn! (slackware 10.2 with kernel 2.4) You remember: Platinum mediums worked well with slackware kernel 2.4! Then i have installed fedora core 4 with kernel 2.6.11 and i can burn this medium (memorex)!! i have also testet with TDK and prodye titanium (this was R- DVD and i have never heard about this medium before) it was also a success. When i insert a RW+ medium then growisofs began suddenly to count down and after 5 seconds it will burn perfectly. When i insert a R+ Medium the speed begins to turn up and down (TDK and Platinum 2 times and memorex maybe 5-6 times) and then he begins to burn.... I think this medium is burn well (nero with windows can check this medium and its looks good - like a medium burns with window-nero) If you are interestet about the mediums i have attached a textfile ! I think we have to wait for a new Kernel and KS0C - then it will burn R+ like RW+ Next week a New "Easy Linux" Magazine ist published! The main theme is "Burning with Linux" and a tests about Medium Burners! I will buy it - if there is a discussion about LiteON 1693S I will tell you! The last thing i will tell you: my burner don't ever worked with KS04! (only RW but NEVER with R+) (because you wrote it worked well with the original Firmware.)
