Bug#543425: apt-get silently ignores typo'd flag -o Dir::Etc:Preferences (should be -o Dir::Etc::Preferences)
Package: apt
Version: 0.7.9ubuntu17.2
Severity: normal
Running something like 'apt-get -o Dir::Etc:Preferences=/etc/foo/preferences
dist-upgrade' will silently ignore the typo and use /etc/apt/preferences.
It would be much nicer if there was at least a warning about the incorrect
flag, or perhaps bailing out.
