Package: apt
Version: 0.1.9

(JCommons) is there any easy way for removing packages (like there is for
installing them)? (ie. for package being uninstalled: find all packages
it depends on & if nothing else depends on them, remove them
<njs> JCommons: umm, no, not really
<njs> JCommons: though you could, say, go through and dpkg -r all of your
non-end-user packages (the ones that you only have installed to meet
dependencies)
<njs> JCommons: doing this would fail, but it would mark them for removal
<njs> JCommons: then you could do dpkg -r --pending after every time you
removed an end-user package, and anything that no long had packages
depending on it would be removed
<njs> JCommons: that's one of the uglier hacks I've ever seen though :-)
-> JCommons ponders: apt-deinstall

Nuff said :P

Seriously, the information to do this well is not available.
