Hello,

Well, I upgraded X and the kernel to the versions in experimental:

$ dpkg -l xserver\* | grep ^i
ii xserver-common 2:1.11.99.901-1 common files used by various X servers
ii  xserver-xorg                          1:7.6+10                      X.Org X server
ii  xserver-xorg-core                     2:1.11.99.901-1               Xorg X server - core server
ii  xserver-xorg-core-dbg                 2:1.11.99.901-1               Xorg - the X.Org X server (debugging symbols)
ii  xserver-xorg-dev                      2:1.11.2.902-1                Xorg X server - development files
ii  xserver-xorg-input-evdev              1:2.6.99.901-1                X.Org X server -- evdev input driver
ii  xserver-xorg-video-fbdev              1:0.4.2-7                     X.Org X server -- fbdev display driver
ii  xserver-xorg-video-intel              2:2.17.0+git20120104-1        X.Org X server -- Intel i8xx, i9xx display driver
ii  xserver-xorg-video-intel-dbg          2:2.17.0+git20120104-1        X.Org X server -- Intel i8xx, i9xx display driver (debug symbols)
ii  xserver-xorg-video-vesa               1:2.3.0-7+exp1                X.Org X server -- VESA display driver
$ dpkg -l linux\* | grep ^i
ii linux-base 3.4 Linux image base package
ii  linux-image-3.1.0-1-amd64             3.1.8-2                       Linux 3.1 for 64-bit PCs
ii  linux-image-3.2.0-rc7-amd64           3.2~rc7-1~experimental.1      Linux 3.2-rc7 for 64-bit PCs
ii linux-libc-dev 3.1.8-2 Linux support headers for userspace development
ii linux-sound-base 1.0.23+dfsg-4 base package for ALSA and OSS sound systems
$ uname -a
Linux brain 3.2.0-rc7-amd64 #1 SMP Wed Dec 28 14:29:59 UTC 2011 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Now the GPU doesn't crash -- but the X server does. Here's the end of the
