With

*VT100*translations:    #override \n\
 Shift Ctrl <KeyPress> v:insert-selection(CLIPBOARD)\n\
 Shift Ctrl <KeyRelease> v:ignore() \n\
 Shift<Btn1Down>:select-start()\n\
 Shift<Btn1Motion>:select-extend()\n\
 Shift Ctrl <KeyPress> c:copy-selection(CLIPBOARD)\n\
 Shift Ctrl <KeyRelease> c:ignore() \n\
 <BtnUp>:ignore() \n

doing

1) select text
2) hit ctrl-shift-c without moving mouse
3) move the mouse and click somewhere so that no text is selected anymore

still causes the terminal to stop responding

If I hit ctrl-shift-c again the terminal responds again.
