I've just had a look, and the current set of patches in your debian-experimental branch seems quite okay. Do you still plan to rework some stuff there? Since ries is MIA at the moment, that's not really a big issue, we can wait before merging things and pushing that into a regular package; I might provide people with some binaries in the meanwhile (e.g. through people + blog post or something + big disclaimer).
