Ok then, I can reproduce here, thanks. And yes, having a WM_CLASS would
be better.

Xephyr has the same problem. Since Xephyr should be preferred, I
forwarded upstream against Xephyr at
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10016
