I suppose you obtain the correct sync rates by using the RandR applet or
capplet. In this case, the bug lies in the X server, as GDM doesn't use
RandR and just uses the default sync rates provided by the X server. To
provide useful input, please attach to your reply the output of the
following command:
	/usr/share/bug/xserver-xorg/script 3>&1
