I have tried the configuration without the invalid options (which, btw, should probabbly produce at least an error message about unsupported options, no?), and I do get the same effect.
Filed my issues under https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5578 , which may or may not be related to another poster's issues at https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5256
