Several people are pointing that current i810 driver is in bad state, and your report is another one that sums to the rest. Alan Hourihane maintains an open-source driver for Intel, located at http://www.fairlite.demon.co.uk/intel.html. Could you please give it a try and send to the bug report address your results?
