Bug#216970: [startx] Does not use $HOME/.xsession as documented.
Package: xbase-clients
Version: 4.2.1-12.1
Severity: normal
Hi,
In several places users are instructed to use ~/.xsession instead of
~/.xinitrc including startx(1). However, when I run startx, it does not
use my .xsession at all. In fact the script does not contain the word
session anywhere:
nveber@pyre[3187:~]$ grep -i session /usr/bin/X11/startx
nveber@pyre[3188:~]$ grep -i session /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xinit/xinitrc
nveber@pyre[3201:~]$
It uses .xinitrc instead.
Thanks,
Norbert
