It looks like "UseFBDev" is set to "true" when it should not be.  (If
the file /proc/fb does not exist or is empty, it should not be.)

Try running "dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86", and when you are asked:

  Use kernel framebuffer device interface?

Decline the option instead of accepting it.  You can leave all the other
settings at their current values.

Then try restarting the server.
