Re: broken links related to etchnhalf release
3. Why is the 'etchnhalf' codename used in these pages instead of
4.0r4? Is there a reason not to have
http://www.debian.org/releases/stable/4.0r4
resolve to the "right place" ?
I cannot remember such urls, where do they appear ?
etchnhalf is not the same as 4.0r4.
ah. This point has been a source of some confusion for me, and others -
The etch-and-a-half release is essentially just the most recent point
release for etch, but with a more recent kernel (version 2.6.24).
Perhaps that page should say, instead:
The etch-and-a-half release is an enhancement of 4.0r4, that includes
a more recent kernel (version 2.6.24) and makes use of a newer version
of the Debian Installer.
Is that any clearer?
www-team, as far as I can tell the links I mentioned originally now go
to the right versions of the installer, so I think my concerns there have
been addressed. Thanks for looking into it.
Cheers
Vince
