Of course, we're proud of our work. You could even say that many are proud of 
Debian.
This does not mean that we're proud of everything we did for Debian, like that 
reply to a flame you sent to quickly, or that buggy bit of code you wrote 
while you should have been sleeping.
And it doesn't mean that anyone is proud of all aspects of Debian. We're proud 
of the package count and of main being over 99% free. But nobody's proud of 
the delays in releases. And few people are proud of aspects where Debian is 
just average.

So it does hurt to say it. I wouldn't contribute to Debian if release notes 
stated that 5.0 makes Mac OS and Windows systems useless. The project needs 
to be honest and humble, and not to stop efforts when it's happy of Debian 
being as good as the average Linux distribution (we'd have stopped long ago).

I'm not trying to be part of the security team nor to have a word to say in 
the drafting of the announce. I just want the announcement to be fixed 
(particularly for future announcements).
