I would also like to see something like this, full ownership, size, and hashes of all the files. My only concern is that the display might well be crowded. Consider the following example: skx@lappy:~$ echo `ls -l /bin/ls ` `md5sum /bin/ls` `openssl sha1 /bin/ls` -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 75948 Jul 16 12:37 /bin/ls ce1243c8b432abc494b01ff36ea909ef /bin/ls SHA1(/bin/ls)= 1794ed6b4f13312feca1d9555ea2c9426604d216 That's a whole lot of output - I realise that removing one of the hashes might save space but some tools might have a preference for one hash over another. If we're already going to go to the effort of hashing every single file in the archive for MD5 ignoring SHA1 seems like false economy. I volunteer to make the changes to the display code if there is agreement that this is acceptible.. Steve -- # The Debian Security Audit Project. http://www.debian.org/security/audit
