Bug#97877: Any progress on this?

Hi,

I started looking at packaging this, but when non-free potentially
was gonna be banned from debian, I stopped looking into this.

There's also the issue with some of the libraries it needs. PDFlib
provides its own version of among others libz (compression), but
that's already an old one with all the security bugs still in it.
But at the moment you want to use external versions (and indicate
that at configuring the build), all the language extensions are
turned off (for Perl and such). Without these extensions PDFlib
is not really useful.

If you want to take this up, please do. Maybe upstream can even
be convinced to change the license to be DFSG compliant and to fix
the library dependency thing.

Thanks,
Ardo
