I made this package in strict arrangement with the irssi-text author, Pekka Aleksi Knuutila. Strictly speaking, irssi-snapshot is just the means to an end. The package just exists to be able to build xirssi, which is supposed to replace irssi-gtk. xirssi needs an irssi, compiled with "--with-glib2" - the actual stable release, 0.8.5, doesn't support that. Only latest CVS does. So I had two main-goals - we should have the stable release version of irssi which the user can use if they like to have a stable client, and the -snapshot-version, which is necessary to _build_ xirssi (not to run; see depends.) -- .''`.
