Re: Adobe Reader 9.5.4 on 64 bit Linux

Hello List,

as Wheezy is on the edge to get stable,
a good option would be either to wait for Wheezy or to migrate right now to Wheezy
then make the Wheezy box a bi architecture one (i386+amd64), and then to install
the acroread Multimedi-Debian deb ball.

There has, I know, been quite a lot about 32 bit on 64 bit systems

Are you on Squeeze or Wheezy? For Squeeze, install the ia32-libs* and
then dpkg --force-architecture the Adobe Reader .deb

root@Tux-II:/home/lisi/Downloads# dpkg --force-architecture -i
AdbeRdr9.5.4-1_i386linux_enu.deb
dpkg: warning: overriding problem because --force enabled:
package architecture (i386) does not match system (amd64)

Setting up adobereader-enu (9.5.4) ...

What is output of:
root@tal:~# apt-cache policy ia32-libs-*
