I'd avoid it, if possible.

If you lose a disk from a 2-disk raid1, you're back to the reliability
of a single disk.

If you lose a disk from your 4-disk raid 5, then you've got the
reliability of a 3-disk raid0 - ie if any of the 3 remaining disks dies,
you're hosed - 3 times the chances of failure. And if all the disks are
from the same batch as the initial failed one, and have had the same
usage ...

I'd rather have the single disks, or perhaps 2 single disks and a raid1,
split according to how valuable the data is.

But of course that's all up to your judgement :-)
