Since I updated my Wheeze and it installed gnome 3, spanish accents dead keys ("´", "`", etc) stoped working in gnome apps as dead keys. I mean to say that when I press the "`" key and the "a" key it wirtes "´a" instead of "á". I mainly work with KDE desktop and have no complete gnome installation, but only few apps as chrome or Deluge.
My system locale is configured to spanish as I could see executing /usr/bin/locale:
LANG=es_ES.UTF-8
LANGUAGE=
LC_CTYPE="es_ES.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC="es_ES.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="es_ES.UTF-8"
LC_COLLATE="es_ES.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="es_ES.UTF-8"
LC_MESSAGES="es_ES.UTF-8"
LC_PAPER="es_ES.UTF-8"
LC_NAME="es_ES.UTF-8"
LC_ADDRESS="es_ES.UTF-8"
LC_TELEPHONE="es_ES.UTF-8"
LC_MEASUREMENT="es_ES.UTF-8"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="es_ES.UTF-8"
LC_ALL=
and locale -a:
Keyboard layout is the right one as I can can check presseing "ñ" key. In KDE apps there's no problem and accents works as expected.
I checked the locale package configuration (dpkg-reconfigure locale) and it's correctly set (only spanish UTF-8 locale set) and the keyboard layout (dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration) is set with dead keys. Also I created a new user and found the same problem with it.
Could someone help me, please?
Thanks in advance,
Oscar
