Unable to mount UDF Volume

Hello,

I am running Squeeze on a Compaq Presario 2210us laptop.  I get the following message when I insert a DVD-R with a home video in wmv format recorded on it from a camcorder:

Unable to mount UDF Volume
Error mounting: mount exited with exit code 1: helper failed with:
mount: block device /dev/sr0 is write-protected, mounting read-only
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sr0,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
       dmesg | tail  or so

I thought that there might be something wrong with the disc except, when I insert this into another laptop running ubuntu 11.04, it works as expected.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Steven
