ONE very important factor here, you say you downloaded the net-install from testing, that is NOT squeeze
That is is wheezy, so you bug report is inaccurate.

The testing , wheezy net-install on the 27/1/11 as you are correct does not, nor did the 25/11/11.
But should you so wish you will find the the testing net-install from 22/11/11 does function and will
obtain its ip-address with dhcp.

However the graphical installer hangs, so don't use it.

and unless you are perversely masochistic, avoid the loader with speech synthesis. Its pain full to hear
speech so fast, as it tells you what is being shutdown at a halt or reboot.
