You need to provide much more detail.  Saying " installed xen" is much
to vague when talking about packages.

I'm guessing you installed xen-hypervisor but didn't install a xen
kernel.  Did you install:  linux-image-2.6-xen-amd64?

Tell us exactly what you installed and we can help.
