I am running Lenny and this must have changed with a recent update. How
would I go about fixing this? mc runs fine even with this error in the
log.

What happens if you restart gpm?

After doing some research, it appears I do not have gpm installed. This machine is strictly used as a server only using SSH or telnet to connect to it. I have never had gpm installed. How come mc or links (I realized links is also producing that error) now want gpm when it never did before?
