I have:
$> env | grep -i im
QT_IM_MODULE=scim
XMODIFIERS=@im=SCIM
GTK_IM_MODULE=scim
so XIM_PROGRAM=scim -d is missing. I will try by including that.

I only have Global Setup which has all the keyboard layouts. I can
choose any of them successfully in all application except KDE ones.
