I use mgp or "Magicpoint"

Very simple, very easy, very powerful, generates html slides quickly.

        apt[-get|titude] install mgp

http://member.wide.ad.jp/wg/mgp/

Many people use it in the "circuit", I've seen it since about 2000.
never a hiccup.
