internal drive, and look into the external one?

ps: out of curiousity I tried to load a kubuntu 6.10 live session the same way,
and it works, so I guess that in theory this should be possible with
Etch too, or not?
Hi,
I have read, somewhere that sometimes the BIOS has the "knowlege" to
start from USB or in you case FireWire, but after the Kernel takes the
control, it forgot how to make it, so you maybe need to load some
modules before start the installation.
I will try to find what i have read about that and give you the link.
