kir:/home/dh# hdparm /dev/hda

/dev/hda:
 multcount    =  0 (off)
 IO_support   =  1 (32-bit)
 unmaskirq    =  1 (on)
 using_dma    =  1 (on)
 keepsettings =  0 (off)
 readonly     =  0 (off)
 readahead    = 256 (on)
 geometry     = 19457/255/63, sectors = 312581808, start = 0
kir:/home/dh# hdparm /dev/sda

/dev/sda:
 readonly     =  0 (off)
 readahead    = 256 (on)
 geometry     = 4863/255/63, sectors = 78140159, start = 0
kir:/home/dh#

Does that tell you anything?

Actually I've found out that the bug happens only with the AMD K7 kernel
(linux-image-2.6.18-3-k7) but not with the i486 one
(linux-image-2.6.18-3-486). This is K7 hardware. So I'm tempted to file
a bug against the -k7 package. Does that sound reasonable?
