Most SQL efficient open source CMS available?

Hello list,

I'm putting together a custom setup for a content rich web site that
could see rapid growth, and need to make a recommendation for a content
management system.

Typo3 / Geeklog "style" is what I really need, but very efficient use of
the database. I'd love to find something similar to Geeklog that is
making use of sqlite when possible.

This is going to feed a rather huge documentation project for a small
company that is about to publish vasts amounts of research data, notes,
papers, survey data and all kinds of other text based stuff.. Searching
is going to be a major function.

I've gone to sourceforge, freshmeat, hotscripts and a few other dozen
places "I'm feeling lucky" landed me and the choices are just too vast.

Hopefully, someone can point me to a stable solution , or at least make
a note of a pitfall to avoid :) Joomla is way overkill for what we need.

Thanks in advance!
-Tim
