Have you followed the instructions in Etch's installation manual?  I
followed them and they worked fine.  I did the long-way with
partitioning and creating the fs, not just zcatting the .img file.

I found that I needed to install-mbr just like the instructions said I
might.  In fact, every time I changed something, I had to install-mbr.

Mine is a Kingston Data Traveler 2 GB.
