Hi Robert,
I dont recall where I saw this, but I think there may be an issue with
the keymapping on some keyboards. Are you using the the usb or original
sun keyboard? I'd suggest to check lists.debian.org for a sun-specific
list or to check with the GUI login bug reports at bugs.debian.org for
kdm, gdm or what every.
